2) Book your space on the Run Leader Training Weekend

If you are a Run Leader coming with a Run Crew / Club then different conditions may apply. If you are hosting a Run Crew / Club run, please email Lorna@lovetrails.com to check.

Run Leaders will need to be available for the Training Weekend (22-24th April 2022) and the whole duration of Love Trails Festival 30th June to 3rd July 2022.

If you can't make the training weekend, please email Sarah@lovetrails.com and we can chat about how it might work.

We ask Run Leaders to typically lead 2 or 3 runs across the weekend. This is dependent on distance and we can discuss directly with you what distance you are comfortable doing.

The distance of your allocated runs depends on what distance you are comfortable leading. This is completely up to you and we will try and allocate you a run that is best suited to you. If you are normally only comfortable running 10km, we would suggest leading shorter runs of maybe 5km.

All running at Love Trails are social paced runs, NOT races. GTRs and Extra Adventures will be assigned a pace group. It is up to you as Run Leaders to set the social pace, and between the run leaders on each run, to decide who will be at the front and back. Nobody should ever get left behind.

Yes! If you know somebody who is also a Run Leader please let us know and we can pair you up together.

Yes! If you’re leading a Run to Activity, you will get a chance to take part in the activity. Please note that this is subject to availability and in rare occasions when activities have been overbooked, please give priority to the paying customers. We’ll do our best to get you on another activity.

As a Run Leader you must always be prepared, and have the correct kit. This includes;

  • Appropriate trail running shoes

  • A running vest / rucksack suitable for a day on the trails

  • First Aid Kit

  • Water & Snacks

  • A mobile phone

Camping is included in your festival ticket, but you need to bring your own tent & camping gear. If you don’t want to camp you can purchase a bell tent as a Glamping extra.

No, but Run Leaders are welcome to camp in the Love Trails Crew Campsite in the main festival field.

No. Run Leaders do not receive free meals at the festival

No. Run Leaders receive a free car parking pass. This must be pre-booked in advance.

We ask for a security deposit of £179 as a guarantee that you will show up and complete your role as a Run Leader. This money isn't spent on anything. There's a lot of time and resources that go into managing the running programme at Love Trails, and the security deposit shows commitment that run leaders will show up.

It's really important that we have commitment from you as a Run Leader in order for us to allocate you to a run, so please pay the deposit before the deadline of the 16th March to secure your space.

The deposit is refunded after the festival when you have completed your role as a Run Leader.

If you have already purchased your festival ticket then please email sarah@lovetrails.com

If you paid a Run Leader deposit for the postponed 2020 festival, then this has been automatically rolled over to 2022. You don't need to pay again. You can check the status of your ticket in your Easol account here.

You will only receive a full refund on your deposit after the festival if you complete your role as a Run Leader. Refunds will be processed on the week after Love Trails 2022 by Easol, and these can take up to one month to process.

We cannot issue refunds on Run Leader spaces. There is a lot of time and resources that goes into managing Run Leaders so we simply don’t have the capacity to deal with any drop outs. Please email sarah@lovetrails.com if you can no longer make it and we can work together to find a replacement for you.

Refunds are processed through our ticketing platform, Easol. Before emailing us about your refund, please check;

  • Your account that you used to pay the deposit. In most cases the refund has been credited to your account

  • Has the debit or credit card you used expired?  If the answer is yes, please contact us at sarah@lovetrails.com

  • Have you switched debit or credit card account providers? If yes, we’ll need to know this too

  • Did you not show up or miss any of your shifts? If so, we’re sorry but we can’t issue you a refund.

We love dogs and well behaved dogs are more than welcome. But please don't take your dog on your allocated run, as this could interfere with your Run Leader duties. Please make sure your dog is comfortable around large crowds and on a lead during any other runs.

Yes, but you must purchase a crew campervan pass. Please contact us directly to purchase you crew campervan pass. Please note these are in very short supply, so don't delay to get in touch if you plan on bringing your campervan or live-in vehicle.

Travel expenses are not covered for Run Leaders. You must make your own way to the festival and we ask you to use greener travel options like train, coach, bike, or run!

We're a very friendly bunch! Please do get in touch if you're heading out on a run or let us know what you're up to.

We really hope nobody gets injured before Love Trails! But you have two options really. Either enjoy the festival as a normal 'punter' and don't receive a refund... or join the volunteer team and help out to receive a full refund. Typically volunteers do around 3 x 6 hour shifts across the 4 days but this varies depending on what areas you're helping on. Either way, there is plenty to get stuck in with whether you're a punter or part of the volunteer team.

Yes! Please book a FREE space on the Training Weekend here and please select if you require the London coach transfer.
