FAQs

As a Love Trails Run Leader you'll commit to leading 2-3 runs across the weekend, and pay a deposit by purchasing a Run Leader ticket. This is refunded to you after the festival, if you complete the role as a Run Leader.

If you are a Run Leader coming with a Run Crew / Club then different conditions may apply. If you are hosting a Run Crew / Club run, please check with Rich if you have any questions.

  • Free Entry into Love Trails Festival 2020!

  • Exclusive Run Leader Training & Recce Weekends

  • Access into the separate crew campsite with close access to showers & toilets

  • Free hot showers all weekend

  • Free car park pass

  • Sponsor perks & kit

  • A Love Trails Run Leader t-shirt

  • The chance to be involved in a life-changing weekend

  • Automatic Enrolment into the Love Trails Family!

Run Leaders will need to be available for one of the Training Days (5th or 18th April 2020), one of the Recce Weekends (16-17th May or 23-24th May) and the whole duration of Love Trails Festival 2-5th July.

We ask Run Leaders to typically lead 2 or 3 runs across the weekend. This is dependent on distance and we can discuss directly with you what you are comfortable doing.

The distance of your allocated runs depends on what distance you are comfortable leading. This is completely up to you and we will try and allocate you a run that is best suited to you. If you are normally only comfortable running 10km, we would suggest leading shorter runs of maybe 5km.

All running at Love Trails are social paced runs, NOT races. GTRs and Extra Adventures will be assigned a pace group. Please note these pace groups are based on ROAD pace, and are there as a guide-line for runners to select which pace to go. The pace does not match a trail running pace. It is up to you as Run Leaders to set the social pace, and between the run leaders on each run, to decide who will be at the front and back.

Please note, these pace groups are based on road pace, and are there as a guide-line for runners to select which pace

Yes! If you know somebody who is also a Run Leader please let us know and we can pair you up together.

Yes! If you’re leading a Run to Activity, you will get a chance to take part in the activity. Please note that this is subject to availability and in rare occasions when activities have been overbooked, please give priority to the paying customers. We’ll do our best to get you on another activity.

As a Run Leader you must always be prepared, and have the correct kit. This includes;

  • Appropriate trail running shoes

  • A running vest / rucksack suitable for a day on the trails

  • First Aid Kit

  • Water & Snacks

  • A mobile phone

Camping is included in your festival ticket, but you need to bring your own tent & camping gear. If you don’t want to camp you can purchase a bell tent as a Glamping extra.

No, but Run Leaders are welcome to camp in the Love Trails Crew Campsite

No. Run Leaders do not receive free meals at the festival

No. Run Leaders receive a free car parking pass. This must be pre-booked in advance.

We ask for a security deposit as a guarantee that you will show up and complete your role as a Run Leader. This is only refunded after the festival and when you have signed in and out of your allocated shifts.

If you have already purchased your festival ticket then this will be refunded to you after the festival, if you complete your role as a run leader. There's no need to purchase a ticket but please let us know in advance if you have already purchased your festival ticket.

You will only receive a full refund on your deposit after the festival if you complete your role as a Run Leader. Refunds will be processed on the week after Love Trails 2020 by Easol, and these can take up to one month to process.

We cannot issue refunds on Run Leader spaces. There is a lot of time and resources that goes into managing shifts and volunteers so we simply don’t have the capacity to deal with any drop outs. Please email sarah@lovetrailsfestival.co.uk if you can no longer make it.

Refunds are processed through our ticketing platform, Easol. Before emailing us about your refund, please check;

  • Your account that you used to pay the deposit. In most cases the refund has been credited to your account

  • Has the debit or credit card you used expired?  If the answer is yes, please contact us at sarah@lovetrailsfestival.co.uk

  • Have you switched debit or credit card account providers? If yes, we’ll need to know this too

  • Did you not show up or miss any of your shifts? If so, we’re sorry but we can’t issue you a refund.

We love dogs and well behaved dogs are more than welcome. But please don't tale your dog on your allocated run, as this could interfere with your Run Leader duties. Please make sure your dog is comfortable around large crowds and on a lead during any other runs.

Yes, but you must purchase a crew campervan pass. Please contact us directly to purchase you crew campervan pass. Please note these are in very short supply, so don't delay to get in touch if you plan on bringing your campervan or live-in vehicle.

Travel expenses are not covered for Run Leaders. You must make your own way to the festival and we ask you to use greener travel options like train, coach, bike, or run!

The best place to get to know other Run Leaders is our closed Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/512081679515825/
We're a very friendly bunch! Please do get in touch if you're heading out on a run or let us know what you're up to.

We really hope nobody gets injured before Love Trails! But you have two options really. Either enjoy the festival as a normal 'punter' and don't receive a refund... or join the volunteer team and help out to receive a full refund. Typically volunteers do around 3 x 6 hour shifts across the 4 days but this varies depending on what areas you're helping on. Either way, there is plenty to get stuck in with whether you're a punter or part of the volunteer team.
