ABOUT

This is not just a 5km; it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty that defines North Gower, whether you choose to race, run, jog, or hike. Taking place on Sunday, the 5km trail race is a perfect way to close off your running experience at Love Trails Festival, taking in one last scenic wander on the final day of what has hopefully been a magical weekend!

Waving goodbye to the festival village, the route starts along the Wales Coast Path, with views of wild ponies and sheep scattered across the salt marshes. You’ll endure a short climb up onto the sweeping trail above the festival site, before descending back down, finishing amongst the full festival experience, returning to a lovingly made wooden medal, designed and made right here in the Gower Peninsula.

This route is fully marked with directional signage, so there’s no need to navigate, just follow the signs!

There are no aid stations on this route, so pack snacks, water, and enjoy the journey!

ABOUT

This 10km trail race can be raced, run, or walked, alone or with friends. However you fancy tackling it, scenic splendour awaits.

Heading straight out of the festival site on Saturday morning, the route travels across compact dusty trails (with a bit of mud!) over the wild expanse of Cefn Bryn, dropping down to the peaceful village of Reynoldston, beaming with Welsh charm. Here, you can expect a well stocked aid station, brimming with snacks and hydration, and your halfway marker before the descent down past Arthur’s Stone, returning to the buzz of our festival site. With varied terrain and endless views, you can expect a blend of uphill excitement and downhill exhilaration, all in equal measure.

As with all our trail races, you’ll start and finish amidst the energy of the festival site, with a whole programme of live music and post-run celebrations to follow. This is a fully supported route with marshals and one aid station.

ABOUT

Timed Out™ presented by Passenger

A Love Trails original race format & concept, est. 2025. And the world's first trail race that stops the clock for the best bits.

THE BIG IDEA:

Every race you've ever run made you rush past the good stuff. Timed Outis the one that doesn’t. You race the legs against the clock. Then, the second you reach an 'aid station', the clock times out. It pauses. And the trail turns into a pop-up festival you're free to soak up for as long as you like — with zero penalty to your time. Think DJ sets, craft workshops, sea dips and yoga classes along the route.

Race hard. Then properly arrive. Socialise. Then do it all over again. It's the only race where stopping is the whole point.

HOW IT WORKS:

01 RACE

Run timed legs across Gower's footpaths, woodland & hilltop single track. Your pace, your race.

02 TIME OUT

Reach an aid-station and the clock pauses. These aren't paper cups and energy gels. They're immersive pop-up experiences built to be lingered in: creative craft workshops & yoga sessions. Stay five minutes or forty five. It won't cost you a second on your race time.

03 REPEAT

Recharged, you toe the line again, time in, and race the next leg towards the next aid-station, and the next reason you'll be in no rush to finish.

Places for this event are offered on a first come, first served basis. Tickets launch Saturday 27th June at 10:00AM.

Indie Races

These races are part of our Indie Race Organiser Showcase, bringing the UK’s most exciting indie organisers to Love Trails Festival for the first time. Sign up in advance, places to each race are available on a first come, first served basis.

ABOUT

Participants will be in survival mode as they take on The Loop, a short, sharp 1km course around the festival site before making it back to Mackyard HQ.

The only catch? Each loop, runners will be eliminated. We will announce the number of runners that will be eliminated before each round and those who cross the line last will be out of the race. For example, if we announce two eliminations, the final two competitors across the line will be eliminated.

This will continue until our grand finale where runners will battle it out for the win. The first person over the line will be crowned the winner and only finisher of The Loop, with everyone else being classed as a DNF (did not finish).

As is customary with Mackyard Events, we will all run the first loop together at a conversational pace to get to know the course and each other. This will not be a race.

No prior knowledge of the course is required. Please wear suitable footwear for a mixture of road and trail and bring your own nutrition and hydration – this is a self-sufficient race. Spectators are highly encouraged!

Can you Survive the Loop?

ABOUT

Teams of 2–5 will have 80 minutes to score as many points as possible by navigating to a network of checkpoints. You won’t see the map until the start, where you’ll have 5 minutes to plan your route before setting off.

There are more checkpoints than you can realistically visit, so it’s all about decision making. How far do you go, what do you prioritise, and how do you manage your time? Points increase with distance from the start, and each checkpoint must be stamped to count.

There’ll also be a handful of bonus checkpoints for those willing to take a risk, but make sure you’re back on time...late returns will cost you.

Coming Solo? Perfect, we’ll match people up on the day. It’s more fun that way!

ABOUT

Inspired by a day at WhyWeRun, this is a 30km trail experience built around connection, challenge, and community.

Together, we’ll take on three beautiful 10km loops, returning each time to the WhyWeRun basecamp in the heart of the LoveTrails event village. There’ll be time to pause, refuel, rehydrate, reset, and head back out again, supported by our incredible WhyWeRun community every step of the way.

This is not a race. No podiums. No pace pressure. Just good people, shared miles, and the chance to experience what running can feel like when you remove expectation and show up as yourself.

Whether you want to challenge yourself to go further than you’ve ever gone before, spend time on the trails with like-minded people, or simply discover what WhyWeRun is all about, you are welcome. If 30km feels like a big step, that’s exactly why we’re doing it this way: together, supported, and one loop at a time.

Run it steady, social, punchy, reflective, or a mix of everything. Come ready to take on the full 30km, and we’ll help you get there one loop at a time, because sometimes all it takes is the support to complete just one more loop.

Please bring a running pack, vest, belt, or something suitable to carry what you need for each 10km loop.

There will be nutrition and drinks available to try at the WhyWeRun basecamp/checkpoint at the end of each loop.

Run Experiences™

Included in all tickets, Love Trails Running Experiences are unlimited, immersive runs taking place throughout the weekend.

Curated by Love Trails alongside world-class crews, athletes, artists and brands, these experiences combine running with music, movement, storytelling, wellbeing, adventure and surprise, to create once-in-a-lifetime moments on the trails.

ABOUT

This is a social adventure, not a race.

We'll move at a conversational pace and encourage everyone to stay together, with plenty of opportunities to stop, regroup and soak it all in. Nobody gets left behind.

Where possible, we'd love participants to bring their own head torch and dress appropriately for the conditions. The weather and terrain can be unpredictable, and being prepared helps everyone enjoy the experience.

Expect a social night trail run with good people, good conversation and, hopefully, some beautiful views.

We'll be taking you to the highest point on the Gower, where, on a clear night, we may be treated to views stretching all the way across to Devon. We'll march you all the way to the top of the hill, and then march you all the way back down again.

This is a moderate-to-difficult trail run, with a mixture of climbing, descending and uneven terrain. While the pace will be relaxed, participants should be comfortable spending time on the trails after dark.

Hosted by Camino Ultra's experienced run leaders and coaches, this is an opportunity to slow down, share some miles, enjoy the night sky and experience a different side of the festival.

Dark skies. Good people. A little adventure.

Please note that you will need to make your own way back to the festival site after your sauna session. If you have any questions during the festival, please visit the Information Point.

Hike

Luna Moves: A Mindful Hike Experience | 8KM
ABOUT

This guided hike invites participants to slow down, tune in, and experience movement through a different lens - one rooted in breath, presence, and connection to nature.

Designed with a feel-good, inclusive pace, the session blends gentle hiking with guided breathwork and mindfulness practices. Along the route, we’ll pause at key moments to explore simple but powerful grounding techniques - encouraging participants to step out of autopilot and into a more embodied experience of movement.

The session acknowledges that for many, especially those coming from busy or urban environments, slowing down or engaging with breath can feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable at first. This space is designed to gently challenge that, offering accessible tools that participants can take beyond the festival - into training, recovery, and everyday life.

Rooted in the Wild Luna ethos, this is about connection over performance: to self, to others, and to the environment around us.

Run miles. Drink beer. Feel dusty.

Born out of lockdown in 2020, Run Dusty is East London's nomadic, beer-loving run club. We're heading back to the Gower for an 18km out-and-back, with Gower Brewery waiting at the halfway mark. What's become a Love Trails tradition continues - a well-earned half pint before you turn around and run home. No PBs, no ego, no one left behind. Just a social pace run with good people and great beer.
